Description

Who knew recycling could feel this good? Sumptuously soft underfoot with a long pile, this cosy, sand coloured rug is made in India using recycled plastic bottles. 128 of them to be precise. The perfect way to soften up your space. Sensible on the underside too. It has a non-slip backing to keep it in place. Made in India. 100% polyester. Woven. Spot clean only. Size L170, W120cm. 5.9kg. Sand Solid design.

Our Stylist Says

I love this shaggy rug for adding cosy texture and warmth to a range of interiors. Its neutral sand hue makes it highly versatile, working well with both modern and traditional styles, from minimalist schemes to boho-inspired spaces. A key styling tip is to layer it with contrasting textiles or place it under a dining table or seating area to create an inviting focal point. Due to its thick pile, it’s especially great in living rooms or bedrooms where comfort is a priority, but it’s worth considering practicalities like vacuuming and maintenance to keep it looking its best. Overall, it’s an easy way to introduce softness and a laid-back vibe to your décor.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
