Description

Designed exclusively for Habitat by Margo Selby, an award-winning British artist and textile designer, this Levi wool rug vibrantly demonstrates her distinct use of geometric construction in colour. Drawing inspiration from the Habitat archive of patterns and her ongoing fascination with typography, it's deliberately bold, abstract and playful. Part of the specially commissioned collection in celebration of Habitat's 60 years of British design. Hand made. Made in India. 100% wool. Spot clean only. Size L170, W120cm. 8kg. Multicoloured boxes with tufted cut pile design.

Our Stylist Says

I love this rug for its bold, modern pattern and vibrant colours, making it a great statement piece in contemporary or eclectic interiors. Its geometric design pairs well with minimalist furniture, adding colour and interest without overwhelming the space. It’s versatile enough to sit under a dining table, in a living room, or even in a bedroom to inject a lively, playful vibe. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral furnishings to let the pattern stand out, or complement the colours with accessories like cushions or throws for a cohesive look. Its size is practical for smaller to medium areas, making it a flexible choice for many rooms.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
