The Gustavian collection pays tribute to the kinship that exists between French and Swedish furniture designs. Determined to turn Stockholm into 'the Paris of the North', King Gustav III married together French and Swedish furniture designs to create timeless furniture that exudes simplistic elegance. Inherently Gustavian in style, the Gustavian sofa is the perfect piece for a hallway, conservatory, living room or bedroom. Slim legs have been carved with simple detailing on the stem that lead to acorn finials for visual intrigue. In true Gustavian style, symmetrical carvings have been added to the framework of the sofa which is upholstered in a mushroom-toned linen, with satin resistant qualities, and finished with piped edging. Elements of crest-back-styling complete the sofa, combining style with functionality and comfort. Characterised by its unique design, this Gustavian sofa has been expertly constructed with enduring beauty; over time the stained ash wood will weather to develop a rich patina that only the authenticity of time can evoke.
