Description
Legendary French designer Pierre Paulin originally designed the Pacha Lounge Chair in 1975. Paulin designed the range in harmony with the changing design style of its period, replacing the austerity of post-war design with a new, vigorous approach. Paulin managed to give a real elegance to the rounded forms of the Pacha by finding the perfect proportions, raising it lightly on its base and tracing in the foam and upholstery with stitching lines inclined inwards.

I’m a fan of the Pacha armchair for its soft, sculptural shape and luxe boucle upholstery set off by that pearl-gold base. It works brilliantly in minimalist living rooms, Scandi-inspired lounges or even a refined dressing area, where its low profile and gentle curves add a cosy yet contemporary note.
Styling tip: pair it with a slimside table in brass or marble to echo the gold tone, and layer a fine-wool throw or tonal cushion to balance the chair’s volume. Keep surrounding furnishings clean-lined and in neutral hues so the armchair remains the focal point of the scheme.
