Description

Great Little Trading Co.'s classic Paddington Bunk Bed with Bed Curtains is a stylish but practical choice for a shared bedroom. With soft round edges, this solid bunk bed is compact and ideal for smaller spaces where you need to make the most of your floor space. The extra touch of the curtains provides a nice cosy nook for children to snuggle up in and read, or a great den for play time. The bottom bunk has plenty of head space so parents can comfortably sit in for bedtime stories too. This bed requires two UK Single Size mattresses. Made from solid wood frame and MDF panels with a pine slatted base, it's been tested and confirms to the highest safety standards BS EN 747: 2012+A1:2015 and comes with a 5 year guarantee. We recommend the top bunk for 6+ years, while the bottom bunk is suitable from 4+. Self-assembly: A minimum of 15cm clearance is required on either side of the bed frame during assembly and for moving into position safely. If you plan to assemble this bed yourself you must follow all assembly instructions to the letter so that it complies with British Safety Standard regulations. We recommend in situ assembly by two competent adults; any attempt to move it once assembled may cause damage to the bed and to you. Please also note that we do not recommend the use of power tools on any MDF panels. These beds can be tricky to build and may take a couple of hours to assemble. We therefore strongly recommend that these beds are built for you in situ by our expert delivery/assembly team; just add this option to your basket at checkout.

Our Stylist Says

I love this bunk bed for its playful yet versatile design, making it a real focal point in a child’s room. The Chalk and Pink colour combo lends itself well to both pastel-based nursery schemes and more contemporary interiors, adding a touch of colour without overwhelming. It works particularly well in light, airy spaces with minimalist decor, where it can stand out as a statement piece. To style it effectively, consider adding soft bedding in complementary shades, and utilise the clever built-in features like the bed curtain for cosy zones or storage solutions to keep clutter at bay. It’s a practical yet charming option that grows with your little one and adapts effortlessly to different interior styles.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
