Description

The Junior Whittington Desk & Hutch by Great Little Trading Co. is a versatile desk that can grow with your child. The Junior height of this desk is ideal for ages 3-8, but once your child grows taller you can replace the legs with the taller height recommended for ages 5-12. This desk offers a place to craft or study and the corkboard backing provides the ideal place to store reminders or achievements. The 2 cubby holes and shelf on the top provide plenty of storage too for books, memorabilia and accessories so they can create their own space they are proud of. There's also a central storage drawer to hide away clutter too as well as an opening at the back for cables so you can plug in their technology. It really does have everything!

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Junior Whittington desk for its clean lines and built-in hutch with corkboard - it’s perfect for a child’s bedroom or a home office that needs to stay neat. The all-white finish makes it work equally well in Scandi-inspired spaces, modern minimalist rooms or even a light country scheme. To style it, keep the desktop clutter-free with a couple of matching trays or pots for pens and add a small plant or two to soften the look. Use the side cubbies for books or a pretty box, and pin up drawings or important notes on the cork. A slim desk lamp with an adjustable arm will lift the overall feel and provide practical task lighting.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
