Description

Originally named the 3130 Chair, the oak Grand Prix Chair was designed by Modernist architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. Introduced in 1957 at the Designer's Spring Exhibition at the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen, the following year it won the Grand Prix at the Triennale di Milano - the finest distinction of the exhibition, after which the 3130 Chair received its new name. Now the Grand Prix Chair has been reintroduced by Fritz Hansen with new non-stackable wooden legs. Expertly crafted in Denmark from pressure-moulded sliced oak veneer with a wide grain and finished with a clear lacquer, this iconic chair is authenticated by a Fritz Hansen sticker to the base. With a beautifully sculptural silhouette, this chair would lend a touch of contemporary cool to any living area.

Our Stylist Says

The Grand Prix Chair Oak is a versatile choice that combines sleek, minimalist design with natural warmth, making it ideal for both modern and Scandinavian-inspired interiors. I love how its clean lines and light wood finish bring a sense of Scandinavian simplicity, but it can also seamlessly fit into more eclectic schemes when paired with textured fabrics or colourful accessories. Practical styling tips include layering it with complementary wooden or muted-toned dining tables, or adding a textured cushion for extra comfort and visual interest. Its timeless look makes it adaptable across dining rooms, cafes, or even workspace kitchens, providing both style and function in a variety of settings.
