A selection of truly unique and totally individual traditional hand-knotted rugs, this range from Gooch Oriental showcases rugs created by different artisans across town and village locations across the world, including traditional Persian creations. Each piece is carefully selected by the Gooch Oriental team to ensure it's authenticity, quality and finish. Each one is knotted by hand, an intricate process using traditional hand knotting techniques. As such, no two pieces are the same, meaning you can add an authentic and unique piece of crafted design into your home, whilst supporting this heritage industry. The Sultani collection is very similar is design and style to that of the Khurjeen design. We started producing this collection in 2010 using traditional designs but with a slightly modern touch. Like Khurjeen rugs the Sultani collection is woven and made by the same Hazara tribe based in central and Northern Afghanistan in the Bamyan and Kabul provinces. We use Afghan Ghazni Wool which are hand spun using natural vegetable dyes such as Walnut, Pomegranate, Root plants and saffron. Once dyed and hand knotted onto a cotton warp base in Afghanistan the rugs are transported over to Pakistan where they are expertly finished including washing and trimming. In 1 sqm of a Sultani rug there would be around 140000 + knots. For more information on this rug, email [email protected] About your new rug We recommend. This rug is a great choice for adding a touch of global sophistication to a range of interiors. Its muted grey backdrop combined with vibrant multi-coloured details makes it versatile enough for both contemporary and eclectic spaces. I particularly love it layered under neutral sofas or paired with wooden furniture to bring warmth and texture. Practical styling tips include placing it in living rooms or dining areas to define the space, and since it’s a reasonable size, it works well in both larger rooms and smaller cosy corner setups. Its pattern offers visual interest without overwhelming, making it a smart focal point in more pared-back schemes or a lively accent in more maximalist designs.
