Description

Cascaded from centuries old tribe of North Africa’s region called Marrakesh, these Hand knotted Woolen Berber Style rugs are woven in “Kamalia” a small town, but rich with cottage industry, from worldly renowned Punjab region of Pakistan. These tribal designs rugs are made with a combination of three exclusive Woolen yarns, created especially to attain this quality. The supreme quality wool gives it better durability and substantially less shedding. Using the traditional weaving techniques, these 100% wool rugs are of 4/4 knot count quality. In 1sqm of these Berber rugs there would be around 640 + knots. This rug has been knotted by hand, the oldest and most individual way a rug can be made. This involves an intricate process of weaving by hand on a loom where yarns are tied one at a time, giving the rug a durable construction. About your new rug We recommend John Lewis & Partners Rug Hold Underlay. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor Natural fibres may shed. This will reduce over time, and should not affect the lifespan or performance of your rug When vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres Blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub or use harsh detergents. Textile backed

Our Stylist Says

I really like this hand-knotted Sitara Berber rug for adding texture and colour to a space. Its rich blue tone works well in both contemporary and bohemian interiors, bringing a sense of warmth without overwhelming the room. It’s versatile enough to complement neutral palettes or to tie together patterns in a more eclectic scheme. Practical styling tips include layering it over a larger, neutral carpet for added depth or using it to anchor a seating area in a living room. Its size makes it suitable for a variety of spaces, from a cosy reading nook to a statement piece in a larger open-plan room. To ensure it stays looking its best, regular vacuuming and avoiding excessive moisture are advisable.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
