Semi plain in design, the Gabbeh rug is as versatile as it is luxurious. Hand woven by Turkoman tribes in the province of Aqchae of Northern Afghanistan and made using 100% hand-spun wool on a cotton warp. This rug is then taken to a region in Pakistan where final bespoke touches are added to ensure the rug is finished to the highest standard. This rug's unique semi-plain pattern is created using 100% natural undyed wool meaning the colours can vary from light to dark naturally making each rug truly unique. In 1sqm of Gabbeh rugs there are around 150000+ knots giving it a mid-density pile. About your new rug We recommend. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor Natural fibres may shed. This will reduce over time, and shouldn't affect your rug's lifespan or performance When vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres Blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub or use harsh detergents.
This rug is a fantastic choice for adding warmth and texture to a range of interiors, particularly those with a modern or contemporary aesthetic. Its rich blue hue makes it versatile, working well against neutral tones or as a pop of colour in more vibrant schemes. I love how the hand-knotted Gabbeh construction offers a durable and cosy feel underfoot, making it practical for living rooms or bedrooms. Styling tips include layering with complementary textiles, such as linen or wool cushions, and pairing it with sleek furniture to highlight its artisanal charm. It’s quite a statement piece, so keep surrounding accessories minimalist to let the rug truly stand out.
