A stunning hand stitched piece of cloth from the Yoruba people of west Africa. The Oko means “top cloth” meaning cloth of high status. The fabric is also used to make men’s gowns called agbada and hats called Fila and women’s wraps called iro. The detail individual stitching is beautifully crafted from both sides. Size: 175x140cm Avoid Machine Washing: Never use a washing machine, as the agitation can cause the delicate, handwoven strips to unravel or lose their structure. Hand Wash Gently: If hand washing, use cold water and a mild liquid detergent or soap. Do Not Soak for Long:Limit soaking to 10–30 minutes to prevent color bleeding and weakening of the threads. Spot Clean Spills Immediately: For localized stains, use a soft toothbrush or cloth dipped in mild soapy water and dab gently. Do Not Wring: Never twist or wring the fabric. Instead, gently press out excess water. Cotton 90%
