Description

Find the perfect nursery lighting for your child with this Traffic Table Light. This tripod table lamp features a blue stand and a white fabric shade with a design of cars and trucks in varying colours, making for a fun and charming addition to any playroom. Lampshades are also great for diffusing a warm toned illumination into any room, allowing for a calming ambience.

Our Stylist Says

I love the bright, playful vibe of the traffic lamp - it’s a perfect statement piece for a child’s bedroom or playroom, adding colour and character without overwhelming the space. Its tripod base offers a retro-modern look that works well in contemporary interiors, as well as more eclectic or Scandinavian-inspired settings. For styling, try pairing it with simple, neutral furnishings to let the lamp stand out, and consider placing it near a cosy reading nook or a corner desk to maximise its functional charm. Its cheerful blue tone can inject a fun, lively element into softer colour schemes or act as a cheerful pop of colour in more muted, minimalist rooms.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
