Description

Incorporate a fun space theme into your child's bedroom with the Rocket Ceiling Light. This light features a unique rocket design that is finished in blue and red. With an open cage-type design, this light is guaranteed to project a bright light into the room that is ideal for playrooms.

Our Stylist Says

I love this rocket-inspired pendant for adding a playful, retro touch to various interiors. It works particularly well in children's bedrooms, playful kitchens, or even quirky home offices where a fun statement piece is needed. For styling, consider pairing it with minimalist or mid-century furniture to let the light fixture stand out; using warm bulbs can help soften the bold colours and create a cosy atmosphere. Practical tips include placing it above a table or reading nook to optimise task lighting and ensuring ceiling height is adequate, as it’s quite a bold shape that benefits from some space around it. Overall, it’s an eye-catching piece that balances colour and fun while still serving a functional purpose.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
