Description

Create a nautical theme in your child's bedroom with the Pirate Ship Ceiling Light. This ceiling light has cartoonist detailing on the sides, complete with little sails and flags for the full pirate ship aesthetic. With the bulb hidden within, this light projects a warm glow into the room, providing practical lighting.

Our Stylist Says

I love this pirate ship ceiling pendant for adding a playful, characterful touch to a child's bedroom or a fun-loving family space. Its brown finish and ship design make it versatile enough to complement nautical, maritime, or even eclectic themes. It works particularly well in rooms with rustic or vintage decor, where the natural tones can anchor the overall look. To style it effectively, consider pairing with soft, neutral walls to let the light and shape stand out, and add other maritime accents such as rope details, vintage maps, or wooden furniture to enhance the theme. Practical tips include positioning it at a height where it illuminates the room well without overwhelming the space, and combining with other layer lighting for versatility.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
