Description

Create a nautical theme in your child's bedroom with the Pirate Ship Ceiling Light. This ceiling light has cartoonist detailing on the sides, complete with little sails and flags for the full pirate ship aesthetic. With the bulb hidden within, this light projects a warm glow into the room, providing practical lighting.

Our Stylist Says

This ship-shaped pendant light is a playful addition that works particularly well in children's bedrooms or themed play areas, adding a fun and whimsical touch to the space. I love it because of its charming design and warm brown finish, which can complement rustic or nautical interiors effortlessly. To style it effectively, consider pairing with other maritime-inspired decor or neutral tones to let the light fixture stand out. It also works well as a statement piece in more eclectic or contemporary rooms, especially when paired with simple surrounds that allow its character to shine. Practical tip: hang it at a height that provides adequate illumination without overwhelming the space, and consider using warm LED bulbs to enhance its cosy feel.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
