Description

Add a space theme to your child's bedroom or play room with the Outer space Flush Light. This flush light comes in a navy finish with gorgeous multicoloured rockets and planets printed on it. Ideal for low ceilings, this flush fitting has a fabric shade that is easy to clean and diffuses a warm glow into the room.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this space-themed flush light for its bold but simple pattern - it immediately brings a playful, modern edge without overwhelming the room. It works brilliantly in a child’s bedroom or playroom (especially on low ceilings), and pairs nicely with neutral walls or a muted feature shade so the rockets and planets really pop. Styling tip: keep other décor items in the same red-blue palette - think cushions, shelf ornaments or wall stickers - and use a warm LED bulb to give a soft, even glow. This keeps the scheme coherent and makes the light the focal point rather than a competing detail.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
