The Glo-Ball Basic Table Lamp Zero forms part of Jasper Morrison's Glo-Ball Collection, created in 1998 to call to mind the radiant glow of a full moon in a clear sky, in a fluid round form crafted from hand-blown, etched white opaline glass. The elegant opaline finish obtains a maximum diffusion of light, with the die-cast aluminium support creating a stable base for the otherwise curved form, so you can place it on any surface, from table, to shelf, to floor. With a 0-100% dimmer allowing you to customise how it falls around your space, Jasper Morrison created the Glo-Ball to invoke the otherworldly magic of night-time, with the lamp appearing three dimensional when not lit, and flat as a disc, like the moon, when illuminated. A truly elegant piece of lighting design, the Glo-Ball Basic Table Lamp Zero is beautifully simple and would enhance any surface with its versatile light.
I love the Glo-Ball Basic here for its minimalist elegance and warm ambient glow, making it a versatile addition to many interior styles. It works particularly well in contemporary and understated Scandi-inspired spaces, where its clean, bulbous form complements sleek furniture and neutral palettes. Practical styling tips include grouping it with other soft lighting elements, layering light sources for atmosphere, or placing it on side tables next to textured fabrics or organic materials to soften its modern silhouette. Its subtle presence can enhance cosy reading corners or bedside tables, offering both form and function without overpowering the overall aesthetic.
