Price History

Description

A simplistic feature for any household, the Gigi tall floor lamp has a slim build that’s ideal for lighting those dark corners, or perhaps to give soft illumination over an armchair. A chrome base and stem give a modern look to this lamp, making it perfect for giving an updated look to your office or study space. A long grey shade sits on top of the base, diffusing the light for a soft, atmospheric glow.

Our Stylist Says

I love this floor lamp for its sleek, modern chrome finish that adds a touch of contemporary sophistication to any interior. It works particularly well in minimalist or urban settings, where clean lines and reflective surfaces are key. Practical styling tips include pairing it with light-coloured furnishings for contrast or placing it beside a cosy reading nook to create a balanced, inviting space. Its versatile design also means it can complement both neutral and bold colour schemes, making it a flexible choice for living rooms, bedrooms, or even home offices. Keep the shade simple and unfussy to maintain a streamlined look; this ensures the lamp remains a chic but understated addition to your décor.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
