Part of an ongoing series of work that aims to reimagine the wild woods surrounding the artist's studio through an outburst of colour. About the artist A "celebratory exploration of colour," Sue Kenngington's abstract artworks are each characterised by expressive, gestural brushstrokes that create a sense of movement. Originally from London, the artist now works between Rome and the Italian wilderness.
I love the simplicity of this piece-the soft, muted tones make it versatile for various interiors. It works particularly well in neutral or colour-blocked spaces, adding a subtle touch of colour without overwhelming the room. A great tip is to hang it at eye level in a living room or hallway, paired with minimalist or contemporary furnishings to let it shine. Because of its calming palette, it also works well in bedrooms or serene spaces where a touch of nature-inspired art can create a relaxing atmosphere. Keep the surrounding decor simple so this art can be a focal point, or build on its soft greens and natural hues with accessories like textured ceramics or lush greenery for a cohesive look.
