I’m a big fan of what I’ll call the Pandora sideboard for its clean lines and warm, neutral wood finish. It sits well in contemporary, Scandi or mid-century inspired spaces and won’t fight with bolder wall colours or patterned rugs. Styling-wise, keep the top uncluttered: a pair of low ceramic vases or a small potted plant on one side, and a slim, framed artwork leaning against the wall on the other. Inside, use it for dinnerware or media kit - its four compartments help keep things organised. A simple runner or tray in a complementary tone finishes the look without obscuring its elegant silhouette.

A Remarkable Journey
Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Sustainability at the Forefront
From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.
Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.
Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.
