I’m a fan of the “Gong” coffee table for its low-slung, circular profile and neutral wood veneer balanced by a slender brass plinth. It sits neatly in modern or Scandi-inspired living rooms and works equally well against a textured rug in a minimalist or mid-century setting. Styling tip: anchor it with a large round tray to corral a small plant, a couple of design books and a sculptural ornament. Keep heights varied but low, and introduce a contrasting texture - perhaps a ceramic vase or a woven coaster - to highlight the table’s smooth surface without crowding it.

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.
Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.
