Description

This console table captures the style of Scandi-minimalism with a design that's well-suited in both modern and rustic-inspired interiors. It's made from solid European oak in a natural dry sheen finish that highlights the wood grain and it's built with dovetail joints for durability. The depth of the table makes it ideal for smaller spaces or hallways and its curved surface top has a slightly raised edge that lends a practical and softer design detail. Doubles up as a desk The robust build of this table means you can also use it as a desk. The drawer is useful for paperwork and other essentials. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this console table for its clean lines and natural oak finish, which makes it versatile for various interiors. It works particularly well in neutral, Scandinavian, or rustic schemes, adding warmth and a touch of understated elegance. The size is practical for narrow hallways or behind sofas, providing both style and storage options. For styling, consider layering with a mirror or artwork above, and a mix of decorative objects and everyday essentials on top. Its simple design allows it to be a subtle statement piece or a complementary backdrop, making it highly adaptable for both traditional and contemporary spaces.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
