Price History

Description

With its curved edges, slightly winged back and visible seams, the Gaia leather dining chair in Vintage Light Brown blurs the line between classic charm and modern elegance. The padded seat and generous backrest are upholstered in luxury leather, with an aged finish that enhances its traditional feel. Splayed tapered legs complete the look in a beautifully contrasting darker hue, whilst offsetting the soft lines of the seat with their sleek and simple shape. Sure to provide ample comfort and superior style, Gaia is the perfect addition to rustic, contemporary or eclectic dining areas.

Our Stylist Says

I love this leather dining chair for its vintage feel and warm light brown tone, which adds instant character to any dining space. It works well in both modern and traditional interiors, especially those with a neutral or earthy palette. For styling tips, pair it with a sleek glass or wooden table to highlight its classic silhouette, or mix it with other vintage or industrial pieces for an eclectic look. Its leather finish is practical as it’s durable and easy to clean, making it ideal for everyday use. To create a balanced look, consider adding textured cushions or throws, and ensure your lighting highlights the rich colour of the leather without overshadowing its vintage charm.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
