I’m a big fan of this Henley sideboard for its clean lines and warm mid-oak finish - it brings a subtle mid-century touch without dominating a room. The combination of concealed cupboards and drawers makes it a highly practical storage piece, and the raised leg detail helps it feel light rather than bulky. It sits comfortably in Scandi-inspired or modern-contemporary schemes but can also soften a more industrial space. For styling, try a mix of low and tall accessories - a ceramic vase alongside a slim lamp - and hang a round mirror or artwork just above to draw the eye upwards. A small stack of coffee-table books or a decorative tray on one side will keep the look balanced.

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy.
