I’m a fan of the Fuji sideboard for its subtle ribbed oak-effect detailing and slender brass legs, which bring a tactile warmth without feeling bulky. It works brilliantly in Scandi, mid-century or even relaxed boho schemes thanks to its neutral tones and clean lines.
Styling tip: perch an oversized mirror or simple piece of art above, then layer a couple of ceramic vases, a small stack of coffee-table books and a low, leafy plant on one side to balance the eye. Inside, use the drawers for table linen and board games, and the cupboard for glassware or extra tableware, keeping surfaces clutter-free and functional.

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.
Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.
From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.
Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.
Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.
