First produced as a wallpaper in 1864 Fruit is one of Morris’s earliest designs. Displaying an abundance of ripened pomegranates hanging from the branches of an overflowing tree flora and fauna entwine to give this surface printed wallpaper a lovely hand block printed look. Shown here in a slate grey and vellum blue colourway. This wallpaper is part of the Simply Morris wallpapers collection. Application Method: paste the wall and then apply wallpaper. Pattern match:Straight. Vertical repeat: 54cm.
I love how the fruit wallpaper brings a fresh, vintage charm to a space without feeling overwhelming. It’s well-suited for creating a lively feature wall in kitchens, dining rooms, or even a playful hallway, adding colour and a touch of nature-inspired pattern. To keep the look balanced, pair it with neutral furniture and understated accessories-perhaps a simple dining table or solid-coloured seating-so the wallpaper remains the focus. Practical styling tips include layering with textured fabrics or natural materials like rattan or wood to enhance its organic vibe, and choosing understated lighting to highlight the vivid colours, especially the lovely indigo and red tones. This piece works brilliantly in spaces that benefit from a cheerful, characterful touch.
