Created by Spanish designer Jaime Hayon for Fritz Hansen, the Fri Lounge Chair is upholstered in bold upholstery. The armchair is incredibly comfortable thanks to the soft foam backrest that is specially designed for ergonomics. Brushed aluminium legs complete the design and lend it a modern aesthetic.

I’m a big fan of the Fri lounge chair for its simple silhouette and lightweight aluminium legs, which give it a relaxed yet refined feel. The beige fabric works well in contemporary, Scandi-inspired or even mid-century settings, and the neutral tone makes it easy to layer in bolder cushions or a patterned throw without feeling busy.
Styling-wise, it looks best tucked into a reading corner beside a slimline floor lamp or paired with a small side table in oak or walnut to introduce a warmer wood tone. For added comfort, drape a textured cushion in a muted green or deep terracotta, and anchor the spot with a low-pile rug in a tonal stripe or subtle geometric motif.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
