Description

Introduce your home to beautiful lighting and meet Fred the Boston Terrier. With a stylish navy flocked finish, Fred is a delightful table lamp that will bring colour and joy to your interior. Animals are very on trend this season and Fred is no exception. Enhance your home with an vintage style E14 golf ball bulb that dangles loosely and brings an eccentric air to your interiors. Fred will look great on a sideboard in your hallway or positioned on a bedside table.

Our Stylist Says

I love the fun, quirky feel of the Fred the Boston Terrier table lamp - it makes a playful addition to both modern and eclectic interiors. Its navy velvet finish lends a touch of sophistication, making it suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, or even a cosy reading nook. For styling, consider pairing with other navy or neutral-toned accessories to highlight its colour, or use it as a statement piece on a side table or bedside chest. A practical tip is to keep the surrounding decor relatively minimal to let the unique shape shine, while ensuring the lamp's size doesn’t overwhelm smaller spaces. It’s both a functional light source and a clever conversation starter.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
