Our Stylist Says

I love the clean, industrial look of this bollard in steel, making it a versatile choice for outdoor spaces that blend modern design with durability. It works particularly well in contemporary gardens, commercial landscapes, or alongside minimalist pathways where its sleek profile can highlight simplicity and function. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other steel or concrete elements for a cohesive outdoor aesthetic, or using it to subtly illuminate walkways and patio areas without overpowering the environment. Its 360° light diffusion provides even illumination, so positioning it thoughtfully along access routes ensures safety without sacrificing style.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
