A must-have design classic! This lamp was created in 1969 by Danish designer Verner Panton, one of the outstanding figures of Scandinavian design of the 20th century. Flower Pot has become an iconic object of the 70s, but its timeless design has survived the decades without ageing one bit! The strength of this lamp lies in way the two metal domes that make up the shade interlock. Round shapes, elementary and fun, are highlighted by a multitude of cheerful colours. Verner Panton (1926 - 1998) is considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. During his career, he created objects with innovative, futuristic design such as the famous Panton Chair which still inspires the most avant-garde designers to this day. Its style, typical of the 60s and 70s, remains imbued with great modernity.
I love this table lamp for its bold, sculptural shape and its connection to mid-century Scandinavian design. The green hue makes it a versatile statement piece that can add a pop of colour to neutral interiors or complement other vibrant tones. It works particularly well in modern or minimalist spaces, where its distinctive form can stand out without overpowering. For styling tips, consider placing it on a sleek bedside table or a simple console to highlight its clean lines. Pairing it with other vintage or retro accessories can enhance its historic appeal, while a muted colour scheme will allow the lamp to be the focal point. Its functional yet sculptural design makes it a practical and stylish addition to both living and workspaces.
