The Vertigo pendant has become an iconic light of contemporary design. Petite Friture and French designer Constance Guisset create a new chapter with Vertigo NOVA. These new versions are equipped with a central glass globe housing cutting-edge LED technology, giving off a very gentle light. Vertigo Nova reuses the conventions which made the traditional Vertigo pendant so successful: a large size, movement, lightness, graphic style and elegance. Its unique feature: the integrated, powerful, dimmable LED technology, which ensures excellent diffusion. Vertigo Nova magnifies the light: in addition to the practical and uniform light, this wall light projects a pretty shadow pattern on the surrounding walls once switched on. Available with a central diffuser in opaline white or smoked grey glass. The version with an opaline white diffuser for dazzling luminosity and an interior bathed in light. The version with a smoked grey diffuser for a cosy atmosphere, like a mist of sandblasted glass that brings mystery. This floor lamp with its steel structure is adjustable in height with 2 positions to choose from: H 165 cm or H 200 cm. The lampshade consists of flexible polyurethane strips hand-stretched over a thin fibreglass structure. It floats freely in space and quivers with the air currents. Like a wide-brimmed hat, its mysterious, enveloping shape suggests an intimate space. A veritable "cabin lamp", it defines an almost transparent graphic space, as if suspended between floor and ceiling. This lamp-sculpture is intriguing due to its form and movement, appealing through its singular look. The designer, Constance Guisset: "Vertigo Nova was born from the desire to work with the light of the object to soften and graduate it. The technical part is now drawn into the glass. The function of the lamp is enhanced to only allow the essential to appear, a blanket flying between two bodies of water, light and delicate.'' Since 2010, the Vertigo collection has been produced in France, by hand, in the workshops of APF France Handicap, where 30 people manufacture with expert precision most of the lighting collections produced by Petite Friture.
I really like this floor lamp for its sculptural, minimalist form and modern appeal. The Leaf’s sleek, organic shape makes it a great statement piece in contemporary or Scandinavian interiors, adding a touch of artistry without overwhelming the space. Its neutral plastic material allows versatility, working well in both open-plan living areas and bedrooms. For styling, consider placing it next to a simple armchair or sofa to create a cosy reading nook, or use it to punctuate an alcove for a functional yet sculptural accent. The height options (165 or 200 cm) give flexibility, allowing you to tailor it to different room heights and furnishings, while the LED ensures energy efficiency and long-lasting illumination. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for anyone seeking a blend of innovative design and practical lighting.
