The final addition to Alvar Aalto's collection of floor lights, the brass Floor Lamp A811 wasn't designed until 1965.With a single hand-turned shade crafted from delicate, lacquered white metal strips forming concentric circles around the bulb, the shade diffuses an even light. Finished with brass accents and an elegant black leather stand finished by hand in Finland, this sophisticated floor light would enhance any space with its warm glow. Alvar Aalto was one of the founding members of Finnish manufacturer, Artek, and embraced strong individuality with focus on designing predominantly for humanity, creating functional and dynamic pieces for public and personal spaces alike.
