Originally designed in 1959 by Alvar Aalto for the National Pensions Institute in Helsinki, the brass Floor Lamp A810 would lend a touch of contemporary style to any home. With two hand-riveted shades crafted from delicate, lacquered brass strips forming concentric circles around the bulb, the shade allows for different levels of brightness and creates a striking interplay of direct and indirect light. Finished with brass accents and an elegant black leather stand finished by hand in Finland, this sophisticated floor light would enhance any space with its warm glow. Alvar Aalto was one of the founding members of Finnish manufacturer, Artek, and embraced strong individuality with focus on designing predominantly for humanity, creating functional and dynamic pieces for public and personal spaces alike. Requires: 2 x Max 100W E27 bulb (not included)
