Originally designed in 1954 by Alvar Aalto for the National Pensions Institute in Helsinki, the brass Floor Lamp A805 would lend a touch of contemporary style to any home. Nicknamed the 'Angel Wing' owing to its asymmetrical shape, the floor light features a hand-riveted shade crafted from delicate, lacquered metal strips. A striking combination of lines and curves, the shade offers an even diffusion of light that prevents glare. Accented with a polished brass collar and an elegant black leather stand finished by hand in Finland, this sophisticated floor lamp would enhance any space with its warm glow. Alvar Aalto was one of the founding members of Finnish manufacturer, Artek, and embraced strong individuality with focus on designing predominantly for humanity, creating functional and dynamic pieces for public and personal spaces alike.
