Rodolflo Dordoni, who died in August 2023, helped define the aesthetic of contemporary Italian design. ''Fleur'' marks one of the last collaborations between the late Italian architect and designer, and cutting-edge lighting manufacturer Foscarini. Both a vase and a portable lamp, Fleur is a hybrid, poetic object. The transparent glass body can be filled with water to hold flowers. Bathed in a luminous halo, your bouquets thus presented are shown off to best effect. Fleur is a project where opposites meet in a harmonious way: voids and solids, opaque and transparent surfaces. Fleur stands out for the elegant, balanced proportions of the two volumes that make it up: a borosilicate glass body that almost disappears from view, topped with a brightly coloured ABS light cylinder. The transparent glass body fades away, dematerialises, to reveal a coloured ring which seems to float in the air. The upper part in coloured ABS is removable. Containing the LED light source, it serves as a diffuser and also contains the USB-C ports for charging the battery (charging cable included). The wide beam of light directed downwards illuminates not only the transparent body of the lamp, but the surface surrounding it as well, creating a luminous halo on the surface of the table or shelf. Foscarini has specially developed a miniaturised LED circuit for the Fleur lamp, allowing a wider beam to be emitted, compared to traditional cordless lamps. A touch dimmer located on the upper ABS part lets you adjust the light intensity. This lamp is ideal in private contexts, as well as in public places such as restaurants.
