An elegant sobriety for this armchair created by famous Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola. This armchair is characterised by the central slot in its backrest that reminds us of the shape of Scandinavian Fjords. This large “broken” shell takes its inspiration from a seashell, smashed and smoothened by the waves. The seat has curved, soft and enveloping lines. It’s made of HiRE. K® technopolymer: a high-tech composite material of high quality. The advantages of this plastic are its reduced weight, flexibility and excellent resistance (to UV rays, chemicals). What’s more, Hirek is a 100% recyclable material. The shell has a double finish: shiny on the inside and matt on the outside. The steel base is very thin and airy. This chair can be used indoors and out.
I love the Fjord H armchair for its sleek, modern silhouette and versatile white finish, which makes it a great choice for a range of dining spaces. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, adding a touch of sophistication without overwhelming the room. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral or monochrome tableware to let the chair stand out, or mix it with colourful accessories for an energetic look. Its clean lines and understated design also make it suitable for workspaces or home offices where you want a stylish yet functional seating option. To keep the look cohesive, consider using it with light wood or metallic accents and avoid overcrowding the space to truly appreciate its elegant form.
