Bring the peony’s beauty and good fortune into your home with this double faux stem, which looks as magnificent mixed with other greenery and florals as it does displayed by itself. The ever-popular frilly petals of the peony hold an intriguing healing history; not only is the flower’s namesake Paeon – a pupil of the Greek god of medicine, who was turned into the flower by Zeus to save him from his master’s wrath – but it is also one of the oldest remedies in traditional Chinese medicine. It has an apt name in Chinese, too: sho yu, which means ‘most beautiful’.
