Description

Design. A one-way ticket to showstopping style, the Facet 3 door open bookcase has a unique and incredibly on-trend look that you’ll fall more in love with every day. Built from dark mango wood, it displays gorgeous grains and individual colourings, whilst the backless design gives a sense of space to its statuesque form. Smartly configured, the bookcase offers five open shelves that are perfect for displaying your favourite novels and accessories, as well as two compartments hidden behind doors so you can stow away the rest. A signature feature of the Facet range, its fronts boast a stunning geometric design that plays with the eye. Modern vintage at its finest. Combine with the coordinating tables and sideboards for even more of an impact.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this shelving unit because of its distinctive geometric pattern and warm wooden finish, which can add a touch of character to a range of interiors. It works particularly well in modern spaces that embrace a mix of textures or in Scandi-inspired schemes where natural materials are key. Practical styling tips include using the open shelves for decorative books, vases, or curated accessories to give it a personalised look, while the closed section can hide less attractive items or clutter. Its height makes it a great statement piece in living rooms or home offices, and pairing it with subtle metallic accents can elevate the overall aesthetic.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
