Description

Minimalist and versatile, this extra-small Nyeupe Planter and Storage Basket was designed by The Basket Room and handcrafted in Kenya. Woven from doum palm leaves, this intricate basket is produced by the Ngurunit Weavers Group, a collective of 150 craftswomen utilising the age-old Rendille weaving tradition. The shape is finished with the addition of Samburu-inspired beading in simple white. Spurred on by their love of basket weaving, Holly Dutton and Camilla Sutton founded The Basket Room. By supporting local communities in Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya and Swaziland, the workers benefit from fair wages, dignified working conditions and flexible working hours. Please note: Due to the handcrafted nature of these baskets, no two are the same.

Our Stylist Says

I love this little guy for its versatility and natural charm. It works particularly well in boho, Scandi, or coastal styled interiors, adding warmth and texture without overwhelming the space. Its compact size makes it ideal for pairing with small plants, such as succulents or cacti, or for organising small everyday essentials like keys or stationery. Practical styling tips include using it to add visual interest on a shelf or side table, or grouping multiple baskets together for a cosy, layered look. Its neutral woven tone also allows it to blend seamlessly with a wide colour palette, making it both functional and decorative.
