I’m a fan of this oak trestle desk for its sturdy, reclaimed-wood look and straightforward lines. It slots straight into industrial, farmhouse or Scandi-inspired schemes, pairing equally well with black metal chairs or simple leather seating.
For practical styling, keep the desktop clear except for a minimal task lamp and one or two storage boxes or stacked books. Tuck cables away with a neat tray or clips underneath, and soften the look by placing it on a natural-fibre rug. Add a potted plant or two and a simple wall shelf above to balance function with a relaxed, lived-in feel.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
