Description

The tan leather-upholstered Otto Crescent Sofa is exclusive to The Conran Shop and marks a continuing collaboration between British designer Lucy Kurrein and Italian furniture master, Molinari. Designed with the warming intimacy of a campfire in mind, Kurrein calculated the sofa to offer equal width and distance between all users, in any configuration. Taken from the shape of an enveloping baseball glove, the sofa sits on a steel frame, comforting back and arms and is finished with supple feather-filled cushions and hardy elastic straps. This version is upholstered in vegetable-tanned, lightproof cattle leather. Award-winning designer Lucy Kurrein worked for renowned design houses such as Matthew Hilton and Pearson Lloyd before setting up her London studio in 2013. Inspired by Molinari's "Italian furniture manufacturing heritage", the Otto collection is a contemporary fusion of Kurrein's ergonomics with Molinari's "leather-working prowess. "Please note: This is an ex-display piece and therefore may show signs of wear proportional with use. The utmost effort is made to accurately showcase each intricacy and imperfection, and this piece is sold as seen.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sofa for its sculptural silhouette and rich tan leather, which adds warmth and a touch of sophistication to any space. It works particularly well in contemporary or mid-century modern interiors, where its bold shape can stand out as a statement piece. For styling, consider pairing it with minimalist accessories and neutral-toned cushions to let the leather shine, or layer with textured throws for a cosy feel. This piece is quite versatile, but it’s especially suited to open-plan living areas or lounges where its striking form can be appreciated from various angles. Keep the surrounding decor simple to highlight its architectural appeal, and consider elevating the look with a few metallic accents for a modern touch.
