Description

Designed in 1959 by Bodil Kjær and crafted by Carl Hansen & Søn, the BK10 Dining Chair would lend a striking design touch to any interior or exterior. A clean-lined design fashioned from solid teak wood and accented with supportive, weather-resistant cushions in a canvas hue, the BK10 Dining Chair was conceptualised as part of a series of architecturally-inspired indoor-outdoor furniture. Specially designed to withstand harsh weather, the chair will develop a beautiful patina with age. Inspired by Cubism, the sculptural chair features a clean-lined aesthetic that is enhanced by the expert craftsmanship visible in the woodwork. A pioneer of Danish modern design principles, designer, professor and architect Bodil Kjær refers to her furniture designs as architectural elements thanks to their sculptural qualities. Always considering the context of a design, Kjær's furniture is characterised by lightness and functionalist expression. Please note: This is an ex-display piece and therefore may show signs of wear proportional with use. The utmost effort is made to accurately showcase each intricacy and imperfection, and this piece is sold as seen.

Our Stylist Says

The Ex-Display BK10 Dining Chair is a versatile piece that combines practicality with classic design. I love how its clean lines and warm wood tone make it adaptable across both traditional and modern garden settings. It works well in outdoor dining areas that aim for a relaxed, yet stylish aesthetic, especially when paired with teak or rattan furniture. Practical styling tips include layering with cushions for comfort and using outdoor-friendly toppers like weatherproof fabric for longer lasting appeal. It’s a smart choice for anyone wanting durable, good-looking seating that can be easily integrated into a variety of alfresco dining spaces.
