From the Muse collection by Jonathan Adler, these surrealist vases are decorated with handles in the shape of hands. Sculptural and atypical, the vases by Jonathan Adler have the peculiarity of bringing out in relief, poetically and surreally, parts of the body (face, nipples, etc. ) borrowed from these idealised women whom our greatest artists took as their muses. Ceramicist, designer and internationally renowned interior designer, Jonathan Adler first became passionate about terracotta and exhibited his first pottery collection at Barneys in New York in 1993. "Earth is the basis of my work and will always be" affirms Jonathan Adler. For each ceramic piece from the collection, a prototype is made by hand in Jonathan Adler's workshop located in the achingly hip So Ho neighbourhood of New York.
This Eve Bowl with hand-shaped handles is a playful yet sophisticated piece that adds character to any interior. I love how its clean white finish and sculptural form make it versatile enough for a range of settings, from contemporary spaces to more eclectic styles. It works well as a standalone decorative item or as a functional vase for fresh or dried flowers, which can soften its modern lines. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other sculptural objects or placing it atop a neutral tray or table for a curated look. It’s especially effective in minimal or monochrome interiors, but could also add a quirky touch to more colour-rich schemes.
