If self-care had a physical form, it'd be the thoughtful, functional homeware by Slowdown Studio. Each of their collaborative, artistic pieces is designed to make you take a minute – breathe it in. The Evans Throw was designed by Oakland-based artist Jocelyn Tsaih – one of the twelve winners of the 2019 Slowdown Art Comp. All Slowdown Studio woven blankets are spun from 100% USA-grown cotton, and this one's made from a 70% recycled cotton blend – sustainable as well as soul-sparking. Their heavy weight makes them just as at home on your sofa as hung on your wall as unusual art.
I really love the Evans Throw for its bold, graphic design, which makes it a striking accent piece in both modern and eclectic interiors. It works beautifully draped over a neutral sofa or layered on a bed to add colour and texture without overwhelming the space. This throw's versatile aesthetic pairs well with minimalist décors, Scandinavian styles, or even more maximalist rooms that benefit from a touch of visual interest. For practical styling, try folding it neatly over the arm of a chair or layering it with complementary cushions for a relaxed yet intentionally curated look. Its eye-catching design ensures it’s not just functional but also a key decorative element.
