Description

Stylish and innovative task lighting for your interior, the Ernest Task Lamp with Floor Stand in white is a versatile light with a stylish, modern appearance. This lamp can be used as a floor lamp or a desk lamp due to it coming with a floor stand and a c-clamp. It also has an incredibly useful optical lens with a 3x magnification which is ideal for getting better visibility with any intricate tasks you may have such as sewing, or crafts.

Our Stylist Says

I love this floor lamp for its sleek, minimal design and functional versatility. It’s ideal for contemporary and modern interiors, especially in spaces where you want to add a touch of understated sophistication. The white finish makes it easy to incorporate into a range of colour palettes, from neutral to bolder schemes. Practical styling tips include placing it beside a reading nook or in a corner of a living room to provide both task and ambient lighting. Its adjustable arm allows for tailored illumination, making it a great addition to home offices or craft areas. As a stylist, I’d suggest pairing it with simple, streamlined furniture to keep the look clean, or using complementary white or metallic accessories to enhance its modern vibe.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
