Description

The Eris Bead Pendant Lamp has been designed exclusively for OKA and is handmade by a company committed to creating employment for local South African women in need; many of whom have been affected by poverty and HIV. The women learn to specialise in specific techniques, which they are able to execute from the comfort of their own homes. This was one of the reasons the founder decided to work with hand-rolled clay beads as the clay comes from local mines, requires skilled craftspeople and doesn’t harm the environment. The beads are dried in the sun, kiln fired and dyed for an attractive watercolour appearance with individual characteristics.

Our Stylist Says

The Eris bead pendant in clay offers a versatile and tactile focal point that works beautifully in both contemporary and rustic interiors. I love how its craft-inspired, textured surface adds warmth and visual interest, making it ideal for creating cosy dining areas or statement entrances. It pairs well with natural materials like wood, linen, or organic fabrics, and works particularly well in spaces with a neutral palette, where its subtle colour and texture can shine. When styling, consider hanging a single pendant over a kitchen island or grouping a few at different heights in an open-plan living space to create a layered, welcoming look. Practical tip: ensure the bulb used emits warm light to complement its earthy hue and textured finish.
