In beautiful pale oak, the elegantly designed, contemporary teramo shelving unit is ideal for displaying books and treasured possessions. The Ercol design ethos shows in every carefully considered detail, from the overhanging top and elegant turned legs to the distinctive, spindled sides.

I’m a fan of the Teramo shelving unit for its clean lines, slender frame and light ash finish - it slots easily into Scandi-style, modern coastal or pared-back contemporary interiors. The open shelves mean you can break up rows of books with greenery, ceramics or woven baskets, using taller pieces at the sides and lower, compact items in the centre to keep the composition balanced.
Practically, I’d use woven or rattan boxes on the lowest shelf to stow away less attractive bits and bobs, then mix in paperback stacks, a couple of framed prints and a trailing plant on the mid levels. Because it’s open backed, it also works as a room divider in an open-plan space without blocking light or sightlines.
