Price History

Description

The teramo large sideboard in pale oak is timelessly elegant, inspired by the simplicity of Shaker style yet incorporating some traditional elements such as dovetail jointed drawers and an overhanging top. There is a cupboard on each side, each with a single deep adjustable shelf inside. Between the cupboards are three drawers, with the lowest drawer slightly deeper. This contemporary yet classic wooden sideboard has distinctive oval handles and elegantly turned legs - design touches that are characteristically ercol.

Our Stylist Says

This sideboard is a versatile piece that works beautifully in both modern and traditional interiors, thanks to its classic oak finish and clean lines. I love its practical proportions and the combination of storage options - perfect for organising tableware, linens, or everyday essentials. Styling tip: pair it with minimalist ceramics or a few lush plants on top to add warmth and personality without clutter. It also works well in dining rooms, living rooms, or even bedrooms as a functional statement piece. For a contemporary look, keep accessories simple and sleek, while in traditional settings, add vintage bowls or textured textiles nearby to enhance its timeless appeal.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
