I’m a big fan of the Monza chair in black because its slender spindles and gently contoured oak seat strike a clean balance between traditional and contemporary. It works equally well in a Scandi-inspired kitchen, a modern farmhouse dining space or even an airy open-plan loft, where its dark frame can be echoed in light fittings or shelving.
For styling, try pairing it with a solid oak table to pick up the seat tone and add a natural jute or wool rug underneath for texture. If you want a softer look, introduce slim linen cushions in muted colours - soft greys or dusky pinks work nicely against the black timber. It’s also worth mixing in one or two chairs in a contrasting finish (for example, pale ash) to create a casually collected feel.
