Description

Beautifully designed to bring style and storage to your home, this bench is perfect for the calm, curated interior. It's made from a combination of high-quality solid oak and oak veneers and the cushioned top opens to reveal two spacious storage compartments. Great for spare linens, or even shoes, it's a brilliant way to keep your space clutter free. We love the natural finish and the warm tones of the timber, as well as the smooth, spindle-shaped frame. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this bench for its clean, minimalist design that effortlessly blends classic and contemporary styles. It’s versatile enough to suit a variety of interiors, from scandi-inspired spaces with light woods and soft textiles to more modern schemes with sleek finishes. The storage feature makes it practical for keeping things tidy, making it ideal for hallways, bedrooms, or even at the foot of a bed or in a living room. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with cushions for a cosy feel, or placing it beneath a window to create an inviting reading nook. Its understated aesthetic also works well in more neutral, calm interiors, providing both function and subtle design impact.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
